The new version will have:

- Both KJV and NIV and the ability to switch back and forth

-Many new verses

-Errors fixed

-Bugs fixed

-Nice changes to the user experience

So, for now enjoy the free version and the update when it comes.  If I’m right about how the app store operates, if you get it now for free, you should not have to pay when the price for v2 gets set at 99 cents (still cheap :)   ).
